Happy Mother's Day! Today we celebrate ALL the mothers in our lives, the mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, stepmothers, mothers-in-law, foster moms, bonus moms, other-mothers, aunts, wives, partners, sisters, friends, fellow moms, mentors and women who love with a mother's heart.
Today we want to share some beautiful stories of motherhood from our Chica Beauty Sisterhood.
"The closest person to a mother for me is my boyfriend's mom. She is kind and helpful and always a person to go to for my boyfriend and I! She is kind and helpful and makes me remember how to treat people" - Jaclyn Centoni
"My mom was incredible, she lived with me the last 6 years. She died last September. My mom taught me to enjoy life to the fullest, read books, travel the world and always try new things and be sure to have a hobby!" - Lisa Stokoe
"Since myself and my husband were in the Army most of our married life, I lived away from my mom. We went home, to Illinois, every Christmas and every summer. My mom also always visited us. I called my mom on all my birthdays and on her birthdays, even when Alzheimer’s set it. I also called her on Mother’s Day and holidays when we weren’t there. The staff where she lived knew I would call. I knew she may not have been aware of the phone call, however, I knew. I didn’t want to have an important day go by that I didn’t get to hear her sweet, loving voice. She will be gone three years this July. She passed at 96 years old. I miss her every day and especially on Mother’s Day. It’s actually a pretty depressing day when I didn’t get to buy a card to send to her or get to talk to her or hear her voice. However. I’m thankful for the wonderful memories I have of an amazing woman who wasn’t dealt an easy life. Even though I miss her terribly, I have my memory of talking to her and hearing her voice on the last Mother’s Day she was on this earth.
Everyday is Mother's Day! My mom was such a strong, independent woman and if I get discouraged throughout my day, I always think of my mom and wonder what she would do. It keeps me going. WWMD....what would mom do!!! ❤️" - Marcia Gillenwater
"My mom is the strongest person I know. A cancer survivor and true warrior. She battles both Parkinson's and dementia and lost my father and her husband of 54 years just last year. She's been through so much throughout her life but is so selfless and truly is my hero. ❤" - Tammy Holmes
"My mom is the best mother in the world and she rocks! She inspired me to be the best person I could be and helped me through good and bad things in my life." - Irina Korogodsky
